Trump’s da man!

(The following is an editorial from the Investor’s Business Daily. For an even more detailed list of President Trump’s many accomplishments, go here.)

AFTER WEEKS and months of fixating on tweets and Russia, someone in the press decided to have a look at what the Trump administration has been up to since January. Lo and behold, they discovered that it’s getting a lot done.

serveimage“Trump Has Quietly Accomplished More Than It Appears,” reads the headline in the Atlantic.

“With the Trump administration’s chaos sucking up all the attention,” the article begins, “it’s been able to move forward on a range of its priorities … It is remaking the justice system, rewriting environmental rules, overhauling public-lands administration, and greenlighting major infrastructure projects. It is appointing figures who will guarantee the triumph of its ideological vision for decades to come.”

It goes on to detail these achievements, many of which we’ve highlighted on these pages.

Border crossings, for example, have plummeted, even though all Trump has done so far is promise to enforce existing laws.

The Supreme Court approved parts of Trump’s travel ban, a success made possible by Trump’s appointment of Neil Gorsuch to the bench.

Trump is busy filling lower court positions with conservative justices. Ron Klain, a White House aide to Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, said that Trump “is proving wildly successful in one respect: naming youthful conservative nominees to the federal bench in record-setting numbers.”

What else? Well, Trump pulled out of the Paris climate change deal, which as we noted in this space is a yuuuge win for the economy.

The EPA, meanwhile, is dismantling Obama’s coal-killing, growth-choking Clean Power Plan, and draining the heavy-handed Waters of the United States rule. When a veteran EPA official resigned this week, she complained in a letter to her former colleagues that “the new EPA Administrator already has repeals of 30 rules under consideration,” which the New York Times described as “a regulatory rollback larger in scope than any other over so short a time in the agency’s 47-year history.”

Trump promised to kill two regulations for every new one enacted, but in his first six months the ratio was 16-to-1.

Trump also approved the Keystone XL and other pipeline projects held up by Obama. He’s also rolled back a ban on coal mining on public lands.

To be sure, Trump hasn’t scored a major legislative achievement on signature issues like ObamaCare and tax reform.

The Atlantic writer describes the administration’s achievements as something akin to a shadow government. But these actions aren’t in the shadows. They’re just being ignored by a media that is obsessed with digging up dirt on Trump.

Gone, not forgotten

AS LEFTISTS continue to swoon, roll their eyeballs and riot in the streets over the presidency of Donald Trump, let us pause and gaze back at the Barry Obama years.

A tip of the sombrero to The Beltway Times for bringing this video to my attention.

Wall foolishness

Note to Americans: There’s already lots of wall.

PRESIDENT TRUMP came out of the gate like gangbusters during his first week in office. Kudos to  him!

He restrained the ham-fisted leftists running the Environmental Protection Agency.  He cut off federal aid to law-flaunting leftists running Sanctuary Cities.

He canceled the cash that left-wing Barry had funneled in his waning White House days to Palestinian terrorists.

He revived the Keystone Pipeline. He canceled the horrendous Catch-and-Release policy for illegals.

And Trump declared Israel great again, reversing Barry’s leftist, anti-Semitic tomfoolery.

But there’s one very dumb thing my boy Donald is doing: this business about Mexico paying for a border wall.

Did Israel demand that Mohammedans pay for the walls it’s erected? Lots of good it would have done.

Do you expect your next-door neighbor to buy the deadbolt for your house’s front door?

Nations who want to secure their borders, and all nations should, especially successful ones, must finance their border walls themselves.

That Mexico would pay for the wall was a good campaign slogan, appealing to low-information voters. But the campaign is over. Extend the wall, but don’t expect Mexico to pay for it, and don’t force it via other means.

Keeping your house locked is your own responsibility.

And Mexico should build a wall on its southern border. Don’t expect Guatemala to pay for it.

Adiós, Barry

Pantywaist on wheels. Good grief!

THE NATIONAL embarrassment is over. Barry’s out. Let us praise the Goddess for this overdue gift.

The worst president in American history, inexplicably left in the Oval Office for eight numbing years, is gone.

Have there been other presidents equally incompetent? Yes. But there has not been one in modern times, in this world made small by dangerous technology.

Barack Hussein Obama won the presidency for just one reason: In spite of being mulatto, he passed for black in these politically correct times. And enough people swooned.

They swooned so heavily that Barry won the reputation for eloquence, which was a total myth. Without a teleprompter, his speeches were slow, wooden, passionless.

I won’t detail his sins. There aren’t enough gigabytes. The swooners don’t see them, and the rest of us already know them. The curious can see a good list by rereading my post from last March entitled Trump: the Reaction.

And now we have Donald Trump. America goes from one extreme to the other. The next four — or perhaps even eight — years will be interesting.

Hold onto your sombrero.

And now, America the Beautiful:
