My feeble mental capacity

New Image

TRUMP FANS have become accustomed to violence, both verbal and physical, from Democrats since the Blond Bomber was elected, which sent the lefties into endless hissy fits.

Ensconced here on my Mexican mountaintop, I don’t fear being punched in the face so much as my fellow Trumpians do above the Rio Bravo. But I have had verbal run-ins with berserk, uninformed leftists, and I have known others who’ve had similar experiences.

A lifelong friend and her husband recently rented a vacation home in San Miguel de Allende where they stayed three months. She is a retired university professor with a specialty in Chinese history and culture, and her husband is also a retired teacher.

They are not bumpkins from the hills of West Virginia.

And they are YUGE Trump fans. During their stay in San Miguel they met what seemed to be a nice couple who invited them to their home one night for supper. During the evening’s conversation, my friend mentioned being a Trump supporter.

Get out! Get out! Get out!

So they departed. In the middle of dinner.

Recently, I emailed an old friend who is now living near the Gringo-infested, Mexican town of Ajijic, Jalisco. She and her husband were about the first people I met after arriving on the mountaintop from the state capital in September of 2000.

They lived directly next door to my rental. We socialized a lot. They were big party people, and I got invited over frequently. They were fun folks, chain smokers and boozers who drove an old, beat-up Ford Thunderbird sedan on its last legs.

They left our town years back due to health issues that were exacerbated by the thin mountain air. They headed to lower altitudes and moved around quite a bit.

Last week, not having heard from them in a long spell, and not knowing where they lived, I emailed her, inquiring about how they were doing and where they were. I also mentioned that I recently ran into some other old friends of theirs on our plaza.

Those people are not friends of ours, she said. They are Trump supporters! Bear in mind that these two couples were thick as thieves back then. So I responded in a jocular way, saying I too am a Trump fan. Hoo-boy! Here’s her response:

“So from your right-wing sources Fox News, Breitbart, Infowars and Russian internet trolls, you have become a supporter of a lying, corrupt, climate change denier and sexual predator who puts children in cages and hates Mexicans.* Good choice, idiot!!!”

I intuited from this that they vote Democrat. Prove me wrong.

Well, so much for them. From what I hear, lots of conservatives have lost long-term relationships, not just friends but family too, due to leftists’ inability to accept diversity of opinion. But I embrace my idiocy!!! Three exclamation points! Sad.

* Not even one of these accusations is accurate.

(Moral to this story: Don’t booze, smoke, drive beat-up Thunderbirds or vote for the Democrat Party. Trust me on this. You’ll be a better person for it.)

And now this:

AirBnB sinks further into P.C.

InclusionC

WE OCCASIONALLY rent our Downtown Casita to vacationers via AirBnB. I say “occasionally” but “almost never” is more accurate these days.

We purchased the place in 2010 with an inheritance I received after my mother died in 2009. We had no plans to rent it. It just seemed like a good idea at the time, an investment, and it has increased in value. Also in my mind was that my child bride might move there after my demise because the Hacienda is a handful for a single inhabitant.

Initially, we planned to overnight there on occasion for the fun of it — it’s walking distance from the main plaza — and we did for a while, and then we didn’t. We never do anymore. That’s when AirBnB came to mind. That mega-business was just gaining traction all over the world. We began to rent fairly often via AirBnB.

There were about 30 AirBnB properties in our city of about 80,000 residents when we started , and now there are over 180. That’s a whale of a lot of rentals in a relatively small tourist town, and it’s affected our business a lot. We don’t get many bites anymore.

AirBnB is based in San Francisco, California. It was launched in 2008, and the current name debuted in 2009, so you see we signed on fairly early.

Being a San Francisco company, AirBnB is firmly committed to every silly detail of politically correct nonsense, and just recently they debuted a new policy: When someone requests a reservation, AirBnB hides the profile photo from the property owner.

That’s right. Even though customers fill out a profile that includes a photo, AirBnB won’t let hosts see it until the reservation is approved. This is to avoid “discrimination” on the part of property owners. You might not want to rent to a Mexican, a gay couple, or two young women with purple bangs, nose rings and an attitude.

And they’re right about that, but if you’re a property owner, you should have the right to cull. That’s my opinion. We do cull by age, but that’s legal in Mexico. It’s not old people we don’t want. It’s young people. We embrace old people.

The way I see it is, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” You can tell a lot about looking at someone’s photo. It’s very helpful in deciding yea or nay, and I’m rather picky. We’ve had 18 rentals, ranging from two weeks (our minimum) to three months (our max) and every one has given us five stars in all categories. I’ve returned the favor.

We’ve had good people. Buena gente.

AirBnB has a written policy, and it reads like a SJW Manifesto. Diversity, inclusion, multiculturalism, respect. All that leftist hullabaloo. And now you cannot even see what potential guests look like, a very bad idea. This so-called fairness move is 100 percent in favor of guests and 100 percent against property owners.

I’ll likely be looking into other rental options, ones that favor the property owners over the tenants, ones that stick to capitalism, not Social Justice.

But we’ll stay put on AirBnB, at least till they boot me for being a Trump fan.

Double dose of irony

I POSTED A piece on June 20, Drowning in Irony, about the anger many Mexicans feel due to people from south of their border invading Mexico without permission, which is to say illegal aliens from (mostly) Central America.

The irony, of course, is that Mexicans feel they have every right to sneak into the United States illegally, but when other people from even farther south sneak into Mexico illegally, well, that’s another matter altogether.

This is irony involving Mexicans.

And now we have irony involving people who embrace Political Correctness, specifically England where PC maintains a steel grip these days. The British government enforces diversity, inclusion, tolerance and all that hooey on a daily basis. If you don’t toe the line, a prison term is a real possibility. Just ask Tommy Robinson.

Birmingham, England’s “second city,” is infested with Mohammedans due to England’s Politically Correct, open-arms approach to immigration, which Mohammedans have taken advantage of to a monumental degree. The cash benefits are great!

“Inclusion” is, of course, integral to Political Correctness. So we now have this school in Birmingham that is dead set on forcing a LGBT curriculum on pre–schoolers.* You can imagine how that sits with Mohammedans, none of whom embrace “inclusion.”

Especially with homosexuals whom they prefer to murder.

This is our second dose of irony.

Many of Birmingham’s large Mohammedan population do not even speak English, and their womenfolk walk about covered in black sheets. Assimilation? Ha!

The woman doing the interview in the video is Katie Hopkins, an English, conservative, incendiary whom you either love or hate. I love her. Not normally a fan of Mohammedans, Katie keeps her cool here and makes excellent points.

When more loony leftist irony comes to my attention, count on me to post it here. Their core, fatal problem is they don’t understand human nature.
