Stealing sweet words

THE LEFT IS remarkably talented at stealing and misusing nice words. The most egregious example of this is how they have convinced almost everyone to refer to them as “liberals,” something they decidedly are not.

Using the classic, accurate definition of liberal, I am one and proud of it.

This Prager U video does excellent work in showing the actual chasm between Western leftists and bona fide liberals. Leftists are not “progressive” either, but they have also convinced almost everyone that they are.

Many of the Prager U videos have been banned from YouTube, which is owned by Google, which is run by bogus liberals, i.e. leftists. Real liberals oppose censorship. Bogus liberals embrace it with a vengeance. Sad.

Felipe’s a liberal

LEFTISTS ARE great with words, especially hijacking them, twisting their definitions.

They call themselves progressive and liberal when they are not. Socialism/communism is a political philosophy from a century ago, long proven to not work. Those who embrace it these days are the opposite of progressive.

They are regressive.

Liberal means open-minded and devoted to liberty, so it clearly does not apply to today’s American leftists, the followers of Bernie, Weepy Barry and Liz “Faux Squaw” Warren.

Those who tout their liberalism these days are actually intolerant and narrow. Granted many people consider themselves liberal out of long habit.

They vote Democrat for the same reason.

They’re not bad people. They’re just not paying attention that times and words have drastically changed. Perhaps we should confiscate their iPads so they can pay attention.

I am paying attention, and I am an old-school liberal.

Modern liberals are very different:

liberalism
Modern liberals voice their opinions.

President Paul?

RAND PAUL is kicking off his presidential campaign tomorrow, though it looks like he’s already done it.

America could do worse, is already doing far worse.

Sure, Paul’s daddy is a kook, but let’s assume the fruit has fallen far enough from the tree. Rand has exhibited some kookiness of his own in the past, particularly in the area of foreign affairs. Isolationism’s time has passed, but Rand seems to have cooled on that stance, thank God.

Which brings me to one of his most attractive features: He’s not thumping the Bible. Even my boy Ted Cruz’s first campaign video was chockablock with Bible talk.

And Ben Carson? Lordy.

Now I have absolutely nothing against the Christian tradition — quite the contrary — but I want a candidate who keeps it to himself for the most part. We live, alas, in increasingly secular times, and the Church Lady talk turns off too many “independents” these days.

It’s time for practicality, time to send Democrats packing.

Now that things are warming with Communist Cuba, maybe we can ship them all to Havana. They think they would like it down there. But they wouldn’t.
